| Beyond Florida’s beaches and vacation landmarks lies a dense collection of ghost stories shaped by hotels, theaters, epidemics, military sites and rapidly changing cities. The second Haunted Florida episode concentrates on the Tampa Bay region and the history that continues to haunt its most recognizable places. In St. Petersburg, the episode visits the Vinoy Hotel, Comfort Station No. 1 and the St. Petersburg Museum of History before moving to St. Pete Beach for the Don CeSar and the nearby Don Vista building. Tampa’s stories include the former federal courthouse, now Le Meridien Tampa, and Tampa Theatre, where nearly a century of performances has produced its own backstage folklore. The route also examines the history beneath the Fort Brooke parking garage and the layered traditions of Ybor City, where fire, disease, cigar factories and organized crime meet in the same streets. The journey ends among the beaches and military ruins of Fort De Soto Park.
