| Part 4 of Haunted Ireland travels from the Atlantic coast of County Sligo to Kinsale, Belfast, County Derry and Dublin. The episode combines literary history, ruined estates, military sites, prisons, markets and urban folklore in another wide-ranging journey through the island’s supernatural traditions.
The Sligo stories include Rosses Point, Elsinore House and the spirited life of William Butler Yeats. Charles Fort in Kinsale and Duckett’s Grove in County Carlow lead into Belfast locations including York Road Railway Station, Crumlin Road Gaol, the Royal Avenue Poltergeist and Smithfield Market. The final route visits Downhill and the Mussenden Temple library in County Derry, the Phantom Band in Dublin and Rathfarnham Castle. |
