This episode crosses the state through stories tied to transportation, war, family tragedy, entertainment and the memory of people whose names remain attached to particular places.
The route begins at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, then turns to Hull for the Mystery Buggy, the Wandering Woman and Fort Revere Park. Fort Warren in Boston Harbor introduces the legend of the Lady in Black. The western portion includes Theodore’s in Springfield, Houghton Mansion in North Adams and the story of Eunice Williams near Greenfield before the episode concludes at Boston’s Omni Parker House.
