| Mississippi’s ghost lore is inseparable from the state’s difficult history of war, slavery, violence, commerce and community change. This episode moves among homes, battlefields, ruins, cemeteries, roads, hotels and coastal landscapes while keeping that history in view.
The route includes A Rose for Beulah in Holly Springs, McRaven in Vicksburg, Vicksburg National Military Park, King’s Tavern in Natchez, Windsor Ruins and the Deason Home in Ellisville. It continues along Waynesboro-Shubuta Road and through Mississippi cemetery traditions before visiting Stuckey’s Bridge, Deer Island, the Longfellow House, the Eola Hotel and Cedar Grove Mansion. Some stops are preserved landmarks, while others survive mainly through oral tradition or changed landscapes.
